SUSS Technology follows new FDA cGMP guidance for dietary supplement manufacturing:

→ hard gel capsules (sizes #1, #0 and #00, gelatin and vegetarian available)
→ clear coated tablets
→ tea bags
→ powder mixing and packaging
→ blister, aluminum pouch and bottle packaging

Due to new FDA cGMP guidance and production economics, manufacturing contracts must be at least 300,000 units or 3,000 bottles. The cost of lab tests (e.g., identification, potency, microbial, heavy metals…) and QC/QA (Quality Control/Quality Assurance) assays (tablet weights, capsule filled weights…) is approximately $800 to $2000 per raw material in a single product. Stability studies are also available to ensure accurate expiration dating.

A specific example: if we use $800/raw material as the lowest additional cost to produce one product that contains only one active ingredient, then the cost increase for making 3000 bottles will be $800/3000 or $0.27 per bottle. But if only 500 bottles are desired, then the additional cost will be $800/500 or $1.60 per bottle.

Additional costs will be calculated for:

→ each additional raw material in the compound product
→ high-cost analytical assays (e.g., GC, HPLC-MS…)
→ labor intensive sample preparation
